Sponsors for the 2011 event have been confirmed. Once again we have huge support with the welcome addition of Aotearoa Fisheries Limited and Sealord who are joining us as Primary Sponsors.
AFL & Sealord have recognised the success of this Maori owned and operated event and have requested the opportunity to financially support and participate in this year’s event.

Maori-owned & Leading the Charge
AFL is the largest Maori-owned fisheries company in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
In 1992, the opportunity to finalise all commercial fisheries claims under the Treaty was realised when Nelson-based Sealord Products was put up for sale. What is now colloquially known as the "Sealord deal". AFL is made up of a 50% shareholding in Sealord and 100% ownership of Moana Pacific Fisheries, Chatham Processing, Pacific Marine Farms and Prepared Foods Processing.
Our vision is to be the key investment vehicle of choice for Iwi in the fishing industry, to maximise the value of Maori fisheries assets and to ensure that we are a strong seafood business delivering growth in shareholder wealth to Iwi.
The Seafood Experts.
Sealord’s global net spans seven continents and we deliver $500 million worth of seafood to people in more than 30 countries each year. We employ around 1,100 people throughout New Zealand and over 400 staff off-shore.
Established in 1962, Sealord is half owned by the Maori people of New Zealand, through Aotearoa Fisheries Ltd and half owned by leading Japanese fishing company Nissui.
The people of Sealord consider ourselves guardians of our seas and marine life. We are a proactive supporter of New Zealand’s world-class quota management system that ensures Kiwis and people around the world can enjoy NZ fish today knowing it is a sustainable asset that is being protected for future generations.
